jantiff has left a new comment on your post " KAPISTAHAN NG GAPO, KASADO NA! " Since merong 3 days city wide mall sale, sana meron ding mardigras. Best is encourage all interested businesses to show case their products, since meron tayong 3 places from jackson to pag-asa pwedeng hatiin sa tatlo ang area, food, business, and entertainment so people have choices where to go. i open sa public para maraming magjoin, i encourage mga local distributor or manufacturer para i-showcase product nila within this 3 days.. then para maging memorable ang event make something uniquely olongapo.. remember summer jam in SBMA?? something like that..or pwedeng tayong mag-alot ng day like twin day, isa sa mga araw na iyon and invite all the twins to come and show to the people how many kambal are there in Olongapo show their talent (singing/dancing) and select the winner. Or to make it more interesting, mag lagay kaya ng senior citizens day, its a party to be provided to all lolo's and lola

state of calamity

. . This representation wishes to state full agreement in the importance of a team building activity, its just that, it must have been done in a more appropriate time. . . if not by tradition . . . their next-in-line presumes the responsibility. Officers and staff of the Sanggunian left and even the representative of 1st district of Zambales is off on junket!!! This is unprecedented!!! Specially so that we have just d

new comment on post " Job Opportunities in Olongapo-Subic Bay ": AGE DISCRIMINATION IS DESTROYING THE FABRIC OF THE ECONOMY IN THE PHILIPPINES. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE DISCRACE. THE NUMBER OF CATEGORIES AND ACTUAL JOBS THAT NEED TO BE FILLED BY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND THIS IS THE ADVERTISEMENTS WE SEE AVAILABLE. UNBELIEVABLE IN THE MODERN WORLD THAT SUCH ATTROCITIES GO UNNOTICED. A CRIME IT IS. A CRIME OF NEGLECT OF THE PHILIPPINE MOMS AND DADS THAT WORK SO HARD FOR NOTHING. stop smuggling?

Re: GMA to PASTF: Stop smuggling stop smuggling? they have it in every port, i bet. let the government make some money to pay for our debts with the world bank: fines. come on guys. charge them the amount if they were to buy such a car. you know they do a lot of smuggling in Ilocos, don't you? for years they have been doing that, from washing machines to scooters to harleys. gheez, and we are not able to stop them. I may not know a lot about our country's issues about smuggling, but it is just ridiculous that we haven't realized after so many years, that we are an archipleago. Can we really watch every island? we have 7,107 don't we? we will just end up running around chasing them. "loreladelossantos" loreladelossantos@yahoo.com

comment on post "DOJ: Thrashing of cars legal

comment on post " DOJ: Thrashing of cars legal ": I think the DOJ's reliance on Section 2609 of the Tariff and Customs Code is misplaced because that provision refers to contraband (i.e., articles of prohibited importation and exportation). Articles of prohibited importation are enumerated in Section 102 of the same Code. I am not aware of any law prohibiting the importation of luxury cars. Without such law, the cars cannot be classified as contraband and therefore beyond the scope of Section 2609. Besides, what illegal activities in the future is the DOJ speaking of when the illegal act of smuggling (of goods the importation of which is not necessarily prohibited) happened in the past? winniefang

community service activities

I am looking for a point of contact to possibly arrange some community service activities during a visit to Subic Bay. I am interested in any orphanage or homeless shelter, or senior citizen, or handicapped facility. Thanks you very much. Sincerely, CMDCM Kerns USS MILIUS DDG 69

Filipinos need man of action

I think Ramon Tulfo has a point there about Sen. Richard Gordon being very much qualified to be the country’s president. (“They forget about Dick Gordon,” Inquirer, 8/9/07) When the Americans left Subic and Clark, my friends and I, new graduates from the University of the Philippines, were inspired by what Gordon did at the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and by how he pushed his constituents to move on their own. Quite a departure from typical “Pinoy” anxiety over the post-US bases scenario. I believe the man is a “mover-shaker,” and we need someone who can kick all of us into action. GRACE REYES (via email)

new comment on post "Your Say in Subic Bay News

new comment on post " Your Say in Subic Bay News ": Better to auction off the cars rather than destroy them. The government could have made earned taxes too, if that was their concern. As a car lover, that was quite upsetting for me and I believe it was an act of lunacy even if none of them were mine.

Smuggled Luxury Vehicle's destruction

Has anyone bothered to check to see if these vehicles were stolen from other countries? It is very common for vehicles stolen in the U.S. to be shipped overseas. I think that the serial #'s on these cars should be interpoled prior to their destruction. Just a thought! "bobkeyes3" < bobkeyes3@yahoo.com >

PRESIDENT RICHARD GORDON

Dear Subic Bay News Group, I have read the column entitled "They forget about Dick Gordon" by Mr. Ramon Tulfo. I would like to give my thanks to Mr. Tulfo, for he knows how to recognize what Gordon has done for the country most especially in Olongapo because myself is from Olongapo. I would say no one really has done what our "Dick Gordon" have done in the past. Dick Gordon is my favorite in the political field. And I wish him to be the future Philippine President. I am Filipino presently working here in a very far Cuba. And one thing, when he will become a President, for sure he might be a big help for those OFW workers who wants to be working in the Philippines rather than overseas just to be with their beloved families. It would soon be nice to hear the line ,,,, "PRESIDENT RICHARD GORDON". Wow!!! sounds nice to the ear., di ba ? Please extend this message to Senator Dick Gordon. I salute you ,,,,news@subicbay.ph. It's me, Babe donanfer122884@yahoo.

comment on post "CARLESS IN SUBIC

caraddict has left a new comment on post " CARLESS IN SUBIC ": the only thing the government wants is to earn more money, thru TAXES, if they will just crush the cars listed on thursday they'll just waste money and time... i can just smell publicity a stunt. if they sell those cars listed they can earn atleast 30million pesos with those cars... and 30million pesos can FEAD thousands of families already. and with your opionion with branded cars, i just think you cant afford them. comparing a Toyota Altis to a Mercedes Benz S350 (the least priced from the list) is a big NO NO. i think what the government should is to lessen the taxes in importing and add tax in gasoline! HAHAHAHA 'coz cars consumes gasolines. thats will ear them millions even billions of pesos per month. im a big car fan,i love them and i want to own as much as i can. if they'll continue thus demolishion on thursday it'll just show that the country is willing to spend more than earning.
