Filipinos need man of action
I think Ramon Tulfo has a point there about Sen. Richard Gordon being very much qualified to be the country’s president. (“They forget about Dick Gordon,” Inquirer, 8/9/07)
When the Americans left Subic and Clark, my friends and I, new graduates from the University of the Philippines, were inspired by what Gordon did at the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and by how he pushed his constituents to move on their own. Quite a departure from typical “Pinoy” anxiety over the post-US bases scenario.
I believe the man is a “mover-shaker,” and we need someone who can kick all of us into action.
