HEAlth CARE SYSTEM

HAVE LIVED HERE +UTILIZED THE HEAlth CARE SYSTEM HERE A FEW TIMES + SURE WONT ARGUE THE POINT WITH YOU ! HAD BETTER LUCK WHEN I USED A SPECIALLEST. SUSPECT WHEN I HAVE ANYTHING SERIOUS , IT,LL BE ST LUKES IN MANILA WHICH IS OVER 3 HOURS AWAY OR BACK TO THE US TO HAVE IT TAKEN CARE OF . HAVE LIVED IN SUBIC BAY FOR OVER THREE YEARS , BEEN LOOKING FOR BETTER HEALTH CARE , IT DOESNT EXIST HERE!!!
THANKS FOR THE CONFIRMATION,, jIM

alan john cook wrote: I feel I should make a responsible comment about the Philippines being an ideal retirement place in which to live following the comment by Mr. Carballo that "Healthcare services in the Philippines is at par with the world's best, though not as expensive." This is most definitely NOT that case! By your countrys' own admission, there have been more than 5000 hospitals closed in the last 5 years (mainly because they can't get staff to work in them - they all want to get out of this country, like everyone else!). My own experience over several years of living in the Philippines tells me that the standards of medical care/treatment/facilities are amongst the WORST in the world. In fact there is NO DOUBT that my wife and son would have died, had my wife delivered our son here due to emergency complications - my baby son was in Intensive Care for more than two weeks and my wife almost died on the operating table. There is NO WAY they would have survived the Philippines medical services. Our nephew was taken to the doctor - he had a bit of a chesty cough. The 'doctor' tapped his chest 3 times with his finger ans pronounced that the child had asthma! Some diagnosis, some doctor! I could write endlessly about these horror stories about the medical services of the Philippines, but the above is sufficient to give you an idea.

Needless to say, although I'm married to a Filipina and have spent several years in the Philippines, I will NOT be retiring there - mainly BECAUSE of the extremely poor medical services. I suggest that Mr.Carballo has never lived abroad - certainly not in the developed world and therefore knows nothing about what he writes. I have lived in many countries and visited even more, and the Philippines is the worst place I've ever lived in or been to - by far! It's a country that is going backwards - not developing at all.

Its just like the ships that were donated by US during the bases-era.

THE AETAS HELP TRAIN THE MARINES THAT WORK FOR COMPANY "A" MARINES AT THE NAVY OPM OFFICE. WE WORK THE JUNGLE WITH THE HELP OF THE AETAS. THE PHILIPPINE GOVT NEVER HELP AND MOST NAVY DIDN'T CARE. WE HELP THE NAVY DOCTORS OFF THE SHIP TO GIVE CARE. COL KRAUSSMARINE BARRCKS CO LOVE AND CARE FOR THE AETAS. THE AETAS HELP US STOP LOGGING,BURN PITS AND ILLEGAL HUNTING. THE U.S. NAVY TOOK THE AETAS FROM SUBIC BAY AND PUT THEM IN THE BACK JUNGLE AT MT. STA RITA.
WATCH THE FILIPINO GOVT. OR KOREAN BUSINESS AND THE AETAS OF 92 WILL BE GONE. WATCH THE MONEY. ITS ALWAYS THE MONEY. HERE THE MAIN EXAMPLE, WHY IS IT THAT OLONGAPO IS NOT AS NICE AS ANGLES CITY. ASK WHY THE GORDONS RUNS EVERYTHING. WILL ZAMABLES DIE WITHOUT THE GORDONS. I THINK NOT. WHY IS THERE LAND REFORM IN OLONGAPO. OR WHO ALREADY HAS BEEN GETTING LAND TITLE. KEEP ASKING WHERE THE MONEY AND WHO WILL BENEFITS. THERE WILL BE A GOLF COURSE THERE SOONER THAN LATER.

WOW AFDM 5 USS RESOURCEFULL

Wow. this is just great. Imagine after 15 years, my second home is back (i hope at the same dock where it used to be). I've learned and honed a lot of my skills aboard AFDM-5 that probably proppelled me to where I am today. Hopefully, they will give priorities to my highly skilled former co- workers back there.

new comment on post "Bataan balikbayans tour Anvaya Cove"

new comment on post "Bataan balikbayans tour Anvaya Cove":

Unfortunately, Anvaya Cove is so outragiously priced, that most Balikbayans would rather spend their money retiring in the states.

Retireing in the Philippines would mean affordable house and land, not makeing high monthly payments as we now do here in the U.S.

There are much, much better deals for retirees throughout the Philippines.

They need to focus strictly on Californian expats.

444327: Have the nerve to go into unexplored territory

Some senatorial candidates who merely relied on their famous last names, like Genuine Opposition candidate John Osmeña and outgoing Zambales Gov. Vic Magsaysay, have lost the election and been relegated to the background.

The reason for this is that the Osmeñas of Cebu are no longer in power. In fact, re-electionist Cebu City Mayor Tom Osmeña had to align himself with the Garcias of Cebu to get re-elected. In other words, the “Tatak Osmeña” which was the slogan of Sonny O, did not mean anything to the voters.

Similarly, the Magsaysay name has been forgotten. Vic Magsaysay obviously did not realize that young voters from the ages of 18 to 35 years could no longer relate to the late President Magsaysay with the “My Guy” slogan.

In contrast, the name “Aquino” clearly placed Rep. Noynoy Aquino in the Magic 12 since former President Cory Aquino has been in media and limelight after her term in 1992.
