Araneta and his friends should have run to find the nearest Filippina-she would know how to protect them-or maybe find his mommy.

comment on post "Olongapo village named 2006 Barangay of the Year":

Is this why Carlito Baloy attempts to sweep every complaint under the rug?

Is this why a racist attitude prevails at the barangay hall?

Is this why many of the "Tanods" are either drunk or high on Shabu nightly?

Is this why, since Carlito Baloy has been the barangay captain, crime & specifically Shabu use has skyrocketed?

All of this in an attempt to protect Carlito's precious barangay record so he can say he is No.1...all the while the residents of Barrio Barretto suffer from the injustices of a corrupt barangay. Don't believe me? Conduct your own investigation.

"Barangay of the year?" I doubt the people here would agree with that.

Reader's Reply to Politics in Subic rape case

Sir;

You conveniently combined truths with half truths and outright lies in regards to the VFA. Typical of opponents that seek to bend the thinking of their countrymen that have not the level of education/intelligence to decipher the truths..

Amongst these outright lies are;

1. Assertion that the VFA does not limit the duration of troops stay within the RP.. This is obvious as all treaties have time factors imposed unless a end date was never agreed upon owing to both nations desires.. Thus, unless and end date has not been established, the end of the VFA treaty is in fact, the last possible date that foreign troops (in this case American soldiers) would be training/stationed/working within the RP..

2. Assertion that the VFA provides blanket protection against local prosecution of any act committed within the RP by a foreign soldier is, again, false. It provides for the manner in which prosecution will be rendered. Often America was granted right to prosecute the crime when the crime/punishment is equal under both countries laws. Failing such, the higher punishment was authorized..

You and others fail to see or want to accept such treaties because you simply do not want foreign soldiers on your soil for any reason..

I ask you point blank. Can your own country protect YOU against foreign aggression? I think not. Can your country protect YOU against internal aggressors?. Again, I think not..

Our VFA provides for succinct training in these areas and provides for our continued efforts to asset your nation in case some other country might opt to invade or even attempt terrorism within the RP..

In other words, get your facts straight before you attempt to tell something you know nothing about..

Lastly, perhaps if the Marines hadn't been in Subic, Suzette Nicolas wouldn't have been in Subic to meet with both this asserted defendant nor would her sister have been here to meet with her boyfriend.. The shoes fit both issues.. You simply hate to belief that Suzette can be guilty of anything but naivety..

Jean's Comment on Subic Rape

It is better to try to light a candle than to curse the dark

comment on post "Anger in RP over American rapist’s transfer":

The Alliance for A Just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines (AJLPP) -USA condemn in the strongest term the puppet Philippine government order that transferred convicted American serviceman Lance Corporal Daniel Smith to the custody of the US embassy .

AJLPP coordinator Mario Santos said: “Arroyo’s action proved that the Philippine government’s brazen puppetry ( papet na makapal ang mukha)and lackyism (pagpapakatuta) knows no bounds.

She (GMA) does not only order the killing of Filipinos but also allows the rape of Filipinas and the violation of its own laws and its constitution. Arroyo should stop imploring “law and order” because she cannot even follow the laws of her country. Much more, she should renounce her citizenship and be an ugly American that she is.”

I'm a Native American Indian and I'm not suprised by Governments violating or 'selectively' enforcing their own laws because the U.S. Gov't. has been doing that to us, Native people, since they stole our land and destroyed our people.
I'm outraged when I read of injustices to other peoples for the sake of 'convenience' or whatever suits the occasion. Laws, so we are taught, are to be followed if they are to be respected by us. However, in dealing with Native peoples such as we are, I've found that the only treaties they have honored and the only promise they have kept is to 'take our land' and they did that plus killed most of us.
I apologize to the Philippine people on behalf of us 'First Americans' because the American Government only makes excuses and never apologies. This criminal should be in direct control AND subject to the Laws and statutes of the Philippine Peoples. He has been tried and convicted AND SENTENCED...END OF STORY! I get so angry when I hear of these sort of injustices and blatent cronism I almost go off the rails, so to speak .

My heart goes out to this young Fillipina in her pain. Not only my heart but my prayers for her and to the Great Spirit. My own sister was a victim of rape and I remember her pain from so long ago and the scars that at times never heal. I will pray for her healing of body and spirit and if she ever reads this or not..she has a brother from the Apache tribe.
