looking for his father Steven Ericksen

My friend is looking for his father. The information we have is this. His name is Steven Ericksen born 1955 and lived in michigan. He was stationed in Subic Bay mid seventies aboard the USS Carl Vinson, not sure what this means but his mother (Vienida Duran) also mentioned the USS San Jose-destroyer - ship dock???
My friends name is Michael born August 7, 1976. His mother said she was married to Steven Ericksen and there should be a birth certificate. His mother left Steven Ericksen and somehow got a false birth certificate for Michael. Could anyone help us locate Steven Ericksen or direct us on how to obtain Michael's real birth certificate. Please help us! Thank You
