comment on your post "Subic investors wary over killing of businessman":

SBMA is supposed to be a secured and safe area, as this was an assurance given to the Freeport investors and visitors.

Based on accounts on how the killing was done, an ambush in a major thoroughfare in the Zone, this is a major concern on whether SBMA authorities are in control.

Reader's comment: PhilStar EDITORIAL — Stop the recruiters
http://subicbaynews.blogspot.com/2006/06/philstar-editorial-stop-recruiters.html

Why ban Filipinos from serving in IRAQ? Are we afraid of the insurgents? Suppose the Americans had pulled out here when the Japanese invaders killed and captured a few? Did they tuck their tails and run?
And now we have an opportunity to help form a democracy and rid IRAQ from insurgents, but instead we are to cower in the shadows? McArthur will be turning over in his grave, thinking "Why was it that I Returned?"

comment on your post "US envoy denies report of Filipino mercenary training in Subic

Reader's comment on your post "US envoy denies report of Filipino mercenary training in Subic": i think lots of filipino soldiers would consider the option of joining this kind of job. The risk is the same but the pay is not. Just like other Overseas Contract Workers they went out for greener pasture, finding life in foreign lands.
if a soldier dies here, the money the family receives is not even enough to sustain their needs. Die in Iraq and the family will receive more than enough. Who would not buy this idea? Besides your not shooting brother filipinos in Iraq, your shooting Al Qaedas and Iraq's rebels. God Bless the Filipino Mercenary in Iraq.

comment on your post "Blackwater USA challenged on Philippines plans":

Reader's comment on your post "Blackwater USA challenged on Philippines plans": because of competitive employment and lack of it,i chose to become a soldier, yet it seems that even with the salary the government gives, it's not enough to raise a family.what we are receiving as enlisted personnels is what we call us "bachelor's fee". i think it better if our country will allow us to choose our means of employment, since we are fully aware of the dangers that will confront us,and it will be a much easier job because it's not our own race that we will pursue.
it would be better for us to die in our line of work that provides us and our families financial securities, than here in our country that if something happened to you the families you left will be neglected by the government and just starve..where can you see a government negotatiating with the terrorists?..and for the record you may not hear it blatantly but if there is another uprise movement a lot of us will support it..so sen. biazon stop being a hypocrite, your only saying those because your already in the middle-class living..enough of the traditions and customs, only a few benefits from it, they are also the one's who are destroying it..

Reader's comment on your post "Blackwater USA challenged on Philippines plans":

i'm an active military personnel, viewing from the way we soldiers and policemen live, i don't see why most of us would opt to be a mercenary. same hardship, same risks but higher pay and better future for our families. when lowly soldiers and policemen die in the field or streets, their families are left to starve. so with retirement, we've not enough sum of money to put up even a modest house at the age of 56, kung sabagay, kaya ako nagsundalo dahil sa hirap ng buhay, bakit kaya di ako mag-mercenary?

if you have data to counter such claims, you may send or write it in this space. calling people names simply exposes your true character, which most probably is one of those who attacked without warning people who are just quitely working for a decent living
