Task Force Hanjin

July 29, 2008

The Editor

Philippine Star

Dear Editor:

Your news story on page 18 of your July 16, 2008 issue entitled "Task Force Hanjin members quit after 13th worker" has somehow put the members in bad light. The story is misleading.

Indeed, we, the task force members, resigned but not quitted. We resigned because we saw the need to strengthen and expand the task force on Hanjin by including as members all interested sectors of the community, something that was not possible if we remained under the Office of the Governor. There as a local law - Executive Order No. 1 Series of 2007 - that limits the membership only to six people.

We resigned because we saw the need to have an independent task force to force those responsible for causing the many problems in Hanjin concerning people's rights and environmental protection to accept responsibility, correct the errors and improve the situation.

We resigned because we have already successfully formed an independent, strengthened and expanded task force - the People's Task Force on Hanjin and Subic Bay Inc. It is an NGO properly registered with the SEC even prior to our resignation.

We resigned not in defiance to the Governor, as what our detractors announce, but in support of his good cause for the people of Zambales. In fact, in our resignation letter, we even asked for the Governor's support because we believed that with him our fight would even become stronger.

We resigned because we are already tired of traditional politics. Oftentimes, whenever we faced SBMA and Hanjin in trying to settle the problems concerning gross human rights violations emanating from Hanjin operation, these two would not directly face us. Instead, they would run to the Governor for cover. They would use - and abuse - every opportunity to make the Office of the Governor as an excuse to avoid negotiating with us directly and settle the problems squarely. Probably because they knew that the task force didn't play politics. When we raised an issue, we wanted a straight answer, not tomorrow but today.

We understand that in politics - especially as it is practiced in this country - certain considerations, allowances, leeway and conveniences have to be made for nothing but purely political reasons. Indeed, being under the Governor's Office, we felt that our actions were somehow limited. In difference to the Governor, we oftentimes found ourselves at a loss in the face of the two giants - SBMA and Hanjin. Out of respect to the Governor and for fear that we might harm his office, we oftentimes took caution and tempered our boldness in fighting for people's rights.

Nevertheless, under the guidance of our good Governor, we have done our task and succeeded in achieving our goal. But this is tripartite effort. In oder to finally solve the problems, the SBMA and Hanjin had to do their parts also. We waited. Then we waited some more. . . until one day we could no longer wait. We finally saw light and resigned.

We, the former members of the Task Force on Hanjin under the Governor's Office, did not quit. In fact, we will never quit for as long as we find a need to fight for people's rights and the protection of the environment insofar as the operations of SBMA and Hanjin are concerned.

Very truly yours,

RAMON G. LACBAIN II

Former Zambales Vice Governor/

Chairman, People's Task Force on Hanjin & Subic Bay Inc.

TheClown: stop muna ako for answering :" WORK" muna ako!!!

Best: I do.. do you know anything about DHCP? hahaha.. sorry Ramon.. im cisco specialist and MCSE too

cindy: yuo are rigth john poor people do stupid thing if you lost a job in the phillipines it's hard to get another one with out knowing anyone in a high places i was born and raise in that island everything is always get even

Best: dont ask me anything about TCP-IP if you dont know how that thing works.

Best: You cant trace me by pinging

Best: if you know what I mean. which I bet you dont. hahahah

John: Ok people. Its time to cool off here. Ever=yone has their own opinions, good or bad. Ramon has his ideas and opinions, even though they are wrong to many, there are his. Sad tothink that. Clown or as some knw him as Ramon, you need to step back

John: and cool off. It does not matter if you know anything about the net and how it works, IP addresse etc, can not be traced unless you have the time and equipment. Even if you found the IP address, what can you do? Nothing as this is an open forum.

John: What is sad here Cindy is this, this was done by Filipinos based on the reports that someone in this family fired Filipino workers in Hanjin I guess. Ramon, do you now see how the actions of hanjin affects the locals.

John: This is only the beginning. You of all persons should know and understand your own culture. These workers lost face, someone took it upon themselves to go and kill. Why???? Tell me Ramon, WHY???

John: Think about this now Ramon and Clown, how does your support of and actions and attitude affect this situation? Can you now see why so many are fighting for these workers for better pay, benefits, etc.

cindy: olongapo will never be peacefull everyone want a piece of the action my hometown is like a mine everyone wants a piece from the land , job, women, children and whatever anyone can take, i never seen it peacefull,

John: Its the culture of those Filipinos who commit crimes against their own people that need to be stopped. This is the result of what happens when it gets out of control. This is what happens when the poor get pissed off. How does that make you feel

John: now? Mad. Why you mad for? Its people like you that make these situations. Now do you see why many are talking the way they are????

John: So Cindy, OC is worse now then it was when the Navy was there??? yes or no????

TheClown: good DHCP is that all you got? what your network cisco? then you mention about "PING" 1 so you know anytime you can be trace

TheClown: and john dont blame someone if you know the if everythings is under investigation. im making a peaceful solution herebut you mentioning im stepping back now! who are you a dictator? u leave here before why dont you go back and threating people of OC?

TheClown: and cisco specialist what is your number?? i been working with cisco equiptment since "93's" MSCE? death review again Best! pass ur test not by the books!

RamonAbello: now there is a "death involved", someone will review this site..and let see how far I can go! you got goons we got "good people" behind us! someone will get them and face justice!

RamonAbello: I request to the goverment of Olongapo City to review this site two years back! and lets looks who's Who in finding "justice to this victim", I will not stepping back I will request a further more info that can help to trace that killer!!

RamonAbello: Now lets see who's a joke?

Juan: Peste ang ABS-CBN Olongapo, may balak pa sirain ang TV namin, bigla na lang lumalakas at humihina ang istasyon nila, they're the one filtering the show kaya they're the one to blame, masyado ad ang ginagawa nila sa MAG TV show nila, wala naman wenta,

Juan: everytime na ini-air commercial ng MAG TV bigla na lang tumutodo ang volume, ABS CBN Olongapo is the one to be blame kc they're in control of everything, ABS CBN main relies on paid advertisement in commercials, tapos winawalang hiya lang ng regional

Juan: network station nila like the one here in GAPO.

Juan: ..only shows how poor technical staffs(who may not have expertise on that field, i presume) you have...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

TheClown: what is half/half john???

TheClown: juan ur calm down, ur heart will breakdown just sing tatrattarat boom boom

john: half half is half Filipino and half other nationality. Example: half AMerican - half Filipino.

RamonAbello: investors just keep on coming

RamonAbello: ahh kasi akala ko..."bisloko" ako pureblood tropical.

RamonAbello: no one on this world have a good vision or project like them. maganda ang idea nila para sa pilipinas.. by law they cant own a land 100% so easy lang sa kanila.

RamonAbello: as long the projects are competative to the worldmakets "bring it on"

RamonAbello: malakas ang tunog tungkol sa "molester". Col.Calunsag aksyonan nyo yan!

ANO: So Ramon, your comments as long the projects are competative to the worldmakets "bring it on" is OK with you?? Seems to me that all most every week there is more and more projects coming into SBMA not for Filipinos, but for the

ANO: Koreans themselves. From Sports hotels, conficetels, condos, food markets, etc. What next? Maybe bars and clubs for the Koreans to use with "Filipina's'. So much talk about when the American bases were ther and their bars, etc. Now all you

ANO: done is bring in another group of people to do the ame thing. How soon before we read about rapes of our Filipinas from Koreans?? It is time for the people of OC to rethink what is going on here. YOU are selling away the Philippines to these

ANO: comapnies and for what???? STOP living for today and start thinking about the future of OC and the Philippines.

ANO: If you think it is OK for SBMA to build on every piece of land inside the old bases and even expand beyond the old bases into the mountains, etc. then its YOU who will suffer in the future when these companies decide to leave the Philippines and YOU

ANO: nothing but a waste land of building and no work. These companies are filling their pockets with so many profits at the expense of YOU Filipinos. Wake up and put a stop to this for your childrens futures.

ANO: It is sad to think that Mr Gordon Senior may he rest in peace, would accept what is going on now in his loved city of Olongapo. I think he would be very upset at his family for what they have done or are letting be done to this once protected area

ANO: It is sad to think that Mr Gordon Senior may he rest in peace, would accept what is going on now in his loved city of Olongapo. I think he would be very upset at his family for what they have done or are letting be done to this once protected area

ANO: of Subic Bay. On one hand he may be happy to see so many Filipinos having jobs, but on the other hand he would not be happy on how much damagem is being done to the land around Subic. Ramon and those that think you are so right, I hope you are

ANO: alive when this ALL falls apart in 20 or so years. To see the waste land that once was Subic Bay and OC.

twopesosworth: It's called rape an pilage of the land ANO. This is what the rich do to poor countries that are starving for investments.

twopesosworth: All the people in the Philippines and SBMA see is the monies being put into their pockets from these companies to turn a blind eye and support them. SAD

twopesosworth: They don't think about the future or care about the future. Some day they will open their eyes and it will be too late to fix their disasters.

twopesosworth: What of some of the projects in Manila that now sit doing nothing but a eye sore?

Best: Sorry guys , but Ramon's vision is only 20 feet long hahahaha, cant go beyond the horizon. If only he knows what Im saying , lol. He doesnt have peripheral vision too.. not even perspective view, in other words, his world is in 2 dimension.

Best: Thats how dumb he is,, feel soory for his children,, Their dad got no sound principle

Best: He'll do whatever the dirty politician say... isang palakpak nga diyan Ramon.. hahahahah

John: You see my friend, I am not the only one here that sees YOu for what you are. I hope you can sleep at nigt knowing that YOu and your kind of are stealing from your own people. You are killing the future of the Filipinos of Subic Bay in your support

John: of these companies that are filling their pockets of tons of profits from the backs of poor FIlipino workers in SBMA. SAD.

John: Clown, WAKE the puck up. Stiop telling people on here what lanuage they can talk here. If YOU or Ramoa (same person) have a problem with English, then go away and let SMart people with common sense talk here.

John: It is time for the Filipinos of OC to use some common sense and think about the future of OC and their children. These investments will not last FOREVER. When Hanjin and the "Other" companies get their profits, they will leave SBMA.

John: It is time for the Filipinos of OC to use some common sense and think about the future of OC and their children. These investments will not last FOREVER. When Hanjin and the "Other" companies get their profits, they will leave SBMA.

John: ANO, 2P's worth, and Best are right. I have been saying the same story for weeks and all I got was poop talk from TheCLown and Ramon. I wonder who YOU really are. Hmmmm maybe a Gordon.

TheClown: tagalog po mga kababayan. salamat naman at kahit paano my investor sa "sbma", saan kaya kayo ngayon nagtatrabaho? dont blame Asean people who want peace and progress

SJ: I have to say that Best comment strikes me as Ramon has a problem in that he is so used to having someone wipe his rear end, he is spoiled. He is money crazy and who kowns what he does with his monies. Maybe spends it on litle boys.

TheClown: sige ako ang poop kayo ang langaw hehehe happy lahay

Jorge: I have been reading this little box for months and think that it is being used by the Gordon's with variuos names to make people mad. To think that over 25 yrs ago, if you were against the now Sen Gordon, his little speical team took care of you.

TheClown: ang ganda ng vision nyo sa SBMA puro gulo! wake up mga langaw! madami ng "port" ang pinas! wake up and look! tulog ba kayo?

TheClown: hehehe ngayon galit na kayo dont forget to take ur meds..and GO Gaponians for the best of all!

Jorge: Why R *U so stupid Clown? Way you hide behind Tagalog for. U scared to talk in the secondary language of the Philippines so EVERYONE can see your stupidity? You have no supporters her and all you want is to hide behind your language.

Jorge: R U so scared that "Others" like John, ANO, etc that are willing to challenge you in a common languageyou keep hiding. Just goes to show us that you are spinless.

Jorge: Someday it will catch up to you and you will cry like a little baby asking for help from your fellow Filipino.

TheClown: still my position is to have an investors so the workers can work peacefully

TheClown: alam nyo kahit na anong sabihin ninyo language kung gulo ang hanap nyo sa workers still a YES MAN pa rin ako! now spineless naman at crying baby.. hahaha is that all jorge?

Jorge: Clown, I could call you some very bad names in our native language, but I will not make you and me lose face on here. Use your mind to think what I could call you. You think it so funny on what you are doing. SAD

Jorge: Questions for you clown. How can investors keep the workers working peacefully? Tell us. If the workers are dieing in Hanjin, how is that making them happy? Tell me. How is NOT having benefits making them work peacefuly?

Jorge: How is them getting low pay keeping them peaceful? Yes they are putting foods on the table, but are they able to build homes, put children in college?

Jorge: John, I think maybe you are trying so hard to make Ramon/Clown see your points. He does not want to open his eyes. So it is a waste of your/our time with him. This attitude has been going on in the Philippines for so many years.

Jorge: You or anyone can change their attitudes. The Philippines will always be a country of problems, graft, stealing elections, rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Nothing will ever break this attitude, nothing.

TheClown: Notice nyo? bilanguage ang gamit ko? so meaning understand ko "Taglish". that how "stupid" i am, di ba mga langaw?

Jorge: So my friends, I go sit in the background again watching the stupid FIlipinos continue to listen to those Filipinos who think they know what is best for the Philippines.

Jorge: Taglish is YOU hiding.

TheClown: its up to the workers how to save money not "you". must remember this: kahit milyon ang sweldo kung di naman alam magipon wala rin gutom pa rin

Jorge: tandyent

Jorge: Walang hiya ka!

Jorge: Clown sa sira ang ulo.

Jorge: Yes it is up to the woker to save monies, but how if the mouth pieces of poop like you keep them down?

Jorge: Do us a favor clown, why not find a large building and fall off onto your head, it might help.

RamonAbello: Your so pity theclown they calling you "names" even "poop" still u stand ur ground more power to you!

TheClown: keeping them down? hahaha do u know how to read? my pointis keep them standing until the philippine economy strong again! thats my ground! Work quietly and safely!

From anthony_judah

Before we question the justice system against this foreigner to a fair trial and all. What about that poor 18 year old girl that was sexually molested while she walked towards the main gate at 2am. She had just come from a restaurant and accosted by 5 police-- Pinoys!!! They forced her clothes off, took 8,000php, and molested her with handcuffs on. These people are supposed to protect us!! What is the gov't going to do about that? Are they going to hide it, or maybe bribe the girl not to press charges? Why not have big protest about that!! Why just this foreigner.
Our gov't needs to get it's ??? out ??? their ???. A crime like this should not go unpunished regardless who or what they are! I feel sorry for that young girl. Now, when I go on sbma I will be watching the polic whom I thought was supposed to be watching me for my safety! I am sorry, but, we need to police ourselves before we make claims to our innocence!!

I am wondering if the Immaculate heart of Mary is all Filipinas. Seems to me that now groups like these are getting invovled with this case and wonder why now.

I am wondering WHY they or ANY religious groups NEVER came forward when this case was in court?

How can the IHM come out and speak out without knowing if the truth has been heard or provided in this case?

As I said, if the facts were ALL there and NO evidance was hidden or people lied or threaten in any way to lie, then the outcome will be fair.

But to this day, I think this case was a joke and the world has seen how the Philippines continues to fail when it comes to proper justice for ALL.

This case is no different then the cases against the former Presidents and others who continue to, live free due to the connections they have.

Fair is fair and I think Smith did not get a fair trial. "Nicole" IMHO lied and did so many others.

I hope the IHM will pray for her and Smith as when they meet their makers, the truth will come out and those that lied will be having very long "Hot" days down below.

Siyokoy: ' DOesnt matter John, the're talking nonsense anyway, lol

John: Hmmmmmmm. Well Clown, I guess you don't want inouts from then or discuss whats is going wrong in Subic. Oh well, it's YOUR loss, not mine.

gapo: sorry to you john...makabayan ako,i dont speak english in my homeland..hehehe

John: hehehe

John: Hmmmm. Lets see here. English is the second language of the Philippines and I think if you went out, you would hear alot of it when dealing with foreigners.

John: In the ground breaking ceremony for the Wellis project, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman Feliciano Salonga assured Kim and his compatriots the Subic authority would continue supporting the Korean business community here. This comment

John: shows me that the Philippines or the SBMA is selling a way Subic to the Koreans. Wake up. Soon Koreans will be in the local

John: the ,local Gov't or for sure be paying them off with more and more STUPID projects that the average Filipino can not afford to use.

John: Who but Koreans will be able to offered to live in these conficetels. Next we will see Koreans builds clubs in town just for them to use with women of course. ANd where will these women come from??

John: The American bases were nothing comapred to what is coming soon in OC and SBMA. I guess in 20 or so years, you will have Korean/Filipino's in Gov't stealing from the peopl like the Chinese/ilipinos are doing now. SAD

John: So come on now gapo, Ramon, lets talk about this. Or am I wrong to already know your position Ramon. I wonder if you are full Pilipino or half/half.

siyokoy: ont let ramon speak in english, john. it will only break the flow of thoughts here lol

siyokoy: let them response in tagalog, just let your asawa translate it to you.. lol

john: hehe

RamonAbello: im okey john, some just to be heard in tagalog..cant blame no onerules must be obey

RamonAbello: okey lang if you notice naman "philippines"is a international human breeding" country. kaya iba iba ang kulay namin and we are proud to be one hahaha

RamonAbello: Evryone is welcome sa Gapo just dont bring nuclear bring tikoy instead..hehehe pinoy nga naman

John: Sad about the attack on the 28 yr old Filipina. I wonder if the SBMA Police are up to their old tricks????

May open highways at marami pa

John: gapo WHat are you saying, english pls.

TheClown: maraming investors kaya lng iyong iba takot kasi naloloko na hinaharass pa. ano ang solusyon..e1 nagiisip pa ako..magtataho lng ksi ako!

TheClown: john, we now use Tagalog language..have to learn daw! request ng lahat

Here is how I see it.If Smith is found guilty, the... Here is how I see it.

If Smith is found guilty, then he does the time..

If these two justices have asked to be removed from this case, WHY???

Could it be that maybe, just maybe there is something missing from this case? Could it be that maybe, just maybr Smith did NOT get a fair trail/

Or could it be that these two justices did not want to be pressureed into making a bad choice for the case?

As many have said from the beginning, this case has two many holes in it and to many people both both in PI and many other countries feel that this case was not done correctly.

Only this Filipina and Smith know in their hearts what happened that night. This Filipina due to pressure from the local SBMA/Police and even her family maybe making a bad choice sending this young men to prison for a long time.

If she lied, then when she meets her maker, she will then pay the price for these lies. If Smith lied, he also will meet his maker in the end.

Bottom line is this. Can ANYONE actually say that this case was done by the book? Was there evidence that may have been tempered with?

If he is let go, the FIlipinos will be upset for a longtime. If he is found guilty and then this will also create problems for the Philippines if in fact he was found not guilty later.

Ano: Siyokoy I am not Ramon or TheClown. I am a different Filipino who is OFW. Ramon and The Clown are just "Hangal and gago". I try to speak english here so those that don't understand Tagalog can speak their mind.

John: Well Siyokoy, I see I come back and hear the same old shit from Ramon and the Clown. I am lost for words o try and describe how ignorant these two or one are. Why is it that HE does not understand WHY we speak what we do?

John: How hard is it to see that all we want is better wages and safety for the workers? Seems to me that if anyone needed a put down, he's number one on the list.

Ano: Where have I stated that OFW workers were coming home in big waves stupid? I said that "Many" OFW workers make better $$$ overseas compared to SBMA. There are many who departed SBMA to work overseas. Why is that??? Seems you have a hard

Ano: reading and understanding english. But thats OK Ramon/Clown, it just shows the rest of us that YOU are "hangal" and more comcerned about being a "YES" man vice doing what is right for the workers.

Ano: How can you sleep at night knowing you are such a piece of poop? I wonder how many body guards you have for protection?

John: Siyokoy - Ramon is not your countryman, he is a trader. Why would ANY Filipino be such a hard head when it comes to understanding what is wrong with SBMA and Hanjin?

John: I see him as the same type of Filipino who went over the Japanese in WWII against his fellow FIlipinos.

John: In closing, I have given up trying to make my points clear here. I talke to many FIlipinos who live outside the OC area both in the US and other locations.

John: They are so happy in one aspect of the investments in SBMA, but on the other hand, they are upset and concerned about the cheap wages with no benefits and lack of SAFETY. Is it wrong for them to be mad and upset?

John: SO, I end my time here for now as it appears that "Common Sense" and "Common Decency" don't come into play when trying to discuss our points of view. It is safe to do so on here without being concerned about getting into a gun fi

John: gun fight or winding up in some alley dead. In the end, I am glad to see Subic and OC getting these investments to provide a better life for all even though it could be better.

RamonAbello: Ngayon Makapili, hangal at gago ako...hahaha

RamonAbello: Will you look closely sa mirror "do im trully filipino?" look your "eyes" how about ur DNA? if u taste "tuyo" with suka and siling labuyo

4Q: sip sip mo ..........

TheClown: i love you guys, dont 4get to take your meds.. dont blame me for high blood preasure hahaha (kilig to the bones)

TheClown: question? how many passenger and drivers are killed on the road? do you blame engine or the road maybe the driver himself?

TheClown: My question is deep db? I make this clear..accident do happen anytime! industrial war is going on now in Asia!!

RamonAbello: kahit bigyankau ng sweldo na milyon kung madidigrasya, ganon pa rin yon!! but I respect and proud of SBMA workers!!

RamonAbello: John; even they will give you salary of million a day, if accident do happen it will happen but can be avoided how? its up to the workers!

RamonAbello: and dont worry about me first on the list.. "bodyguard" or that me myself u mentioning? dont woory bullet is a good way to die when they hit you "numbness all over"

TheClown: just dont 4get to take ur meds, love you guys!! zzzzz

TheClown: Ano? do you the joke "even an asshole can be a King" and why you are working overseas? kiss butts of the foreigner

TheClown: dont make this a personal were discussing profesionally! how hash hahaha

RamonAbello: IM PROUD you call me names! you know why? I can "help workers" for being a "YES MAN" Sec. latigo mo ulit ako hehehe..be safe everyone!!

TheClown: everyone kainan na!! dont just look now, 4get your diet for a day..baka maubusan ka dali

FunnyGuy: Im starving its chow time

gaestes3 <gaestes3@yahoo.com>

you can walk down any street - the highway even, and witness industrial practices that are borderline insanity - everyday, everywhere you go.

the first solution for prevention of all the accidents would be to have these industrialist join in a concerted GLOBAL effort to educate its employees in the proper execution of ALL tasks undertaken at their facilities. regardless of how 'dad' does it or the way they do it at the neighborhood, one man shop, saftey should be the first concern as soon as one steps up and into the industrial labor arena.

take care, arrive home to your wife and family every night, and insure the rest of your co-workers the same in kind.

RamonAbello: Read this ff. article John and research! US Dept of Labor (Wage and Hour), www.gov.ph (Rights to safe and healthful condition of work). then curse me after you read. Im happy to accept it!

RamonAbello: Bert, im looking the "big picture" thousands not a hundred of mouth to feed, times their family. SBMA is combinations of profiters or business, not only Hanjin

RamonAbello: evry 400 workers they can elect chairman and safety man, by law (www.gov.ph)

RamonAbello: Wrong Information from the Internet , one of the source is "Wikipidia" - (Bandila ABS-CBN News)

RamonAbello: Gaponians, itong huli sa norte can make "trillion pesos of shabu" burned it again ASAP.

TheClown: Who ever caught a ranking official protects this kind of illegal business "put him back to a rank of private" hehehe

TheClown: When will the North Rail project starts? dont stop because its for the benefits of industry in the philippines, that where your "VAT" works. find a good and honest workers

John: So other death at Hanjin. Sad.

John: Ramon. I am not against YOU personally, your comments and thoughts are what YOU see and report. This is a free speech site, so speak your mind.

John: As for a union for these workers at Hanjin, they shouldgo for it. The unions in S. Korea are in fact very hard on the companies within Korea. This could be a reason they are moving away from Korea to build ships in PI. NO UNIONS and cheper labor =

John: larger profits. SAD.

John: Ramon, I understand your point of view on the wages set by law. Yes it is time for SOMEONE to stand up and change the law and make it BETTER for ALL those workers in SBMA.

John: As for the SAFETY issues. How many deaths is it going to take BEFORE someone gets off their rear ends and does something?????

John: It is time for the workers to get a UNION and get this problem fixed NOW before it costs any more lives in the shipyard.

John: Hanjin needs to be fined $$$$$$$$$$$$ for each safety violation found DAILY. SBMA and the Gov't needs to bring in a company that is not related to Hanjin

John: in any way to run the Safety Program at this shipyard. Bring in the EXPERTS who will walk around 24-7 and do safety checks. That will check each and every aspect of what is going on and must SIGN OFF prior to doing ANY work in the yard.

John: By doing this, it will ensure that every aspect of the work being done is done safely and correct. NOTHING is done in the shipyard I am at without a SAFETY inspection, NOTHING. Without a safety inspection, nothing is done till the inspection is

John: completed. If this slows down the operation, so be it. NO ONE is getting hurt or killed becasue SOMEONE FAILED to do this insepection.

John: So what is going to be Ramon and those other lurkers on here who think that this is NOT a problem. More deaths and injuries??? NO LIFE is worth the lack of SAFETY.

John: In reading the site you sent me to Ramon, I see that the rules are there, but maybe, just maybe there are holes in these rules, guildlines. I know that in PI there are not enough inspectors to go around.

John: I know that the average Filipino would not speak up if he/she saw a safety problem as they would be concerned about getting fired. Sad.

John: So what should be done???? Maybe it is time for the Gov't to take charge, and fix this problem. Hmmmmmmm right. It is sad to say that for me, I don't think that this problem of safety in the Hanjin shipyard will ever be addressed or fixed.

John: Why do I feel that way? $$$$$ under the table to those that turn away from the problem with a blind eye, speak to the workers with one idea, and then walk away richer. Its the same old way of doing things in PI. SAD SAD.

John: In the end, each ship that is being built will be built on the deaths of many workers. The first one was with 12 deaths, now we begin another ship and lets see how may deaths will be with this ship.

John: I wonder Ramon if you have done any research on the unions in Korea in regards to Hanjin??? I will do some to see what those unions have done for the better of their workers.

John: In closing thins discussion today for me is this. My entire point to this problem with Hanjin and ANY other company that SBMA brings in in this.

John: Safety, and better wages and benefits for ALL the workers.

John: It is time for SBMA to DO THE RIGHT THING for its WORKERS.

John: Did THEY really burn these drugs??????? Or did they "fix" this in some way and the drugs are still there for sale?????

John: "SBMA organized a safety inspection team at the construction site to ensure the South Korean construction firm and its sub-contractors follow the national safety standards. - GMANews.TV "

John: WHO is on this team?????????????? Again, seems to me a cover up here. A team of un-trained people is not a team, but a joke. You need EXPERTS in eveery aspect of safety in building ships.

John: You need experts in wldings, erectors, steel cuttings, carpenters, electrical, gases, etc., etc., to make a GOOD SAFETY TEAM.

John: Oh well, another cover up in the making. Why waste my time talking about this anyway.

RamonAbello: Sorry John, been bz. 4 minute

RamonAbello: actualy for past years of my observation they doing great but the most and critical part is "Safety"

RamonAbello: safety that they dont take sireously untill the found too late death comes withou awarning

RamonAbello: put "video survillance" on every post inside hanjin so they can monitor the activities of all workers of hanjin. installed it properly and strategic way

John: MEMBERS OF TASK FORCE ON HANJIN RESIGN. So my question is this. Why did these members resign? Pressure from who? Those issues listed for the new members is what I/WE have been talking about form weeks.

John: Seems maybe there are others who feel the same way. But really, what will this group do to mke it beter for the workers in Hanjin? Hanjin needs to be closed down till THEY get their SAFETY Program up and running to meet world wide standards.

John: If the workers continue to go to work and FAIL to take action, then why bother with trying to make it better? If the workers don't care, then let them continue to die for peanuts.

John: SAD as it seems that is what the attitude is of many.

RamonAbello: What Blood Ship? hello! how about the invention of gun, bullet, atomic bomb or crude oil and so forth! maybe as of u used on it? explain to me all the purpose of this equipment b4 u call this shipa name!

RamonAbello: the ship they built is a maritime vessel meaning to be used for industry. Why you blame making one if u cant blame who introduce deadly chemical to killed people on purpose! Wake up ur brain Hello!

RamonAbello: Workers just continue your job "Quiet but Safe" your fighting for future of ur family and Philippine Industry

TheClown: sayang ang talino ng kabataan kung magagamit lng sa wala, give them a chance of thier life

TheClown: resignation is the best part of your life instead of evry day humilation with ur company!

John: Ramon. My brain is very awake and for sure on rack with my comments. YOU need to STOP being such a fool. Wake up. I guess YOu are just like a Korean who loves the profits in his pocket

TheClown: magpatawa naman kau diyan..stepping on the line saan kana?

Ano: Seems to me that some here are so "PRO" $$$$$$ and forget that Filipinos are TIRED of working as slaves. Ramon and The Clown for whom are just fools John, they don't care about their fellow Filipino

RamonAbello: i think its better to eat a big steak w/ potato, veggies and fine wine right Gaponians! how about you? .

Ano: who works long hours for pennies a day compared to the workers from "other" countries such as Korea. So many Filipinos go oversea to work to get away from these idiots who take, take, take away from FIlipinos

Ano: They may make more money working overseas in dollars and hope they can make better lives for their families. As a Filipino who works overseas, I make way more then if I worked in Han jin or any other company with in SBMA. Many Filipinos who might

TheClown: I truly care Filipino people! and I welcome all OFW that being lost their jobs, because of the trouble you were making to our Industry, Im proud of you

Ano: have worked in SBMA at one time have departed for better wages at the expense of leaving their families behind. Ramon I would think is a person for whom works in SBMA and never forgets to get his payoffs from many sources with in SBMA. He and a The

Ano: Clown are just sad examples of Filipinos who take advantage of the poor Filipino. Those on here that know that what is going on in SBMA and Hanjin is wrong.

TheClown: Their a "big waves" of OFW coming home, that is what you wish. Hunger will strike at your home and be proud of it because that your wish "troublemaker"

Ano: Those Pilipinos on here for whom may work in SBMA or Hanjin, I understand your concerns about income for your families, but when will this practice of cheap labor, poor safety practices end? If YOU the Pilipino who suffers or your friends suffer,

Ano: when will it end with the deaths and cheap labor with no benefits? A few like John cares and speaks from the heart. Ramon on the oter hand is just using YOU ALL.

TheClown: The news coming from the "harrasing philippine investor" will be a great impact all over the world as a filipino workers to your wish is my command

TheClown: Lets see if your wish be granted when you see the economic slowdown. your not getting young.

RamonAbello: and besides "you" cant even invest yourself, but your trying to scare investor and workers which may hurt the economy of our family!

TheClown: I myself, be killed working for the benefits of industry rather than stabbed or gun down for no apparent reasons.

TheClown: just listen to a "troublemaker" and the trouble comes to you, listen to a "good workers" and money will come to your pocket

Siyokoy: Ano, Ramon and TheClown is one.. hahahaha he's working for the city govt I guess.. thats why he got that one track mind. He doesnt care about workers getting exploited and abused. He doesnt care if workers got killed working in an unsafe environment

Siyokoy: He doesnt believe in "just compensation" , he only wants to have our workers get paid for a day then worry about what is left for tomorrow.

Siyokoy: I cant believe you have that kind of mentality Ramon... Its a shame...

Siyokoy: why cant you see our point, which we only want better life for our workers.. which we know these multimillionaire investors can give..

Siyokoy: why cant you stop being a "Yes Man" for awhile and stand for the rights of your kababayan... masahol ka pa sa isang "Makapili".

Siyokoy: Im ashamed I have you as my kababayan..

Siyokoy: Why dont you try working for Hanjin for awhile?

BERT: the walk-out did not happen, workers agreed not to work for a day

BERT: but out of 2,000 workers who are expected to participate, only 20 stood-up, and this 20 have all been terminated

nelson: OMG what should we do johnny?

nelson: BTW olongapoteen, the bulate on ears at imbestigador this weekend; i dont think jlgmh is liable

nelson: surprised nga kami why mike even aired this in the first place, kung itlog ng ipis ang nakita baka pa! he he he :-)

Siyokoy: Bakbakan na naman! hahaha.

Siyokoy: 13th Hanjin died due work related accident. How will Dole or Dept Of labor and Employment will react on this. They already absolved Hanjin of previous incidents and balme the deaths to nature hahahahaha !

Siyokoy: *blame

Siyokoy: Forget Ramon Abello, John. He's the unofficial spokesman of Hanjin etal, hahahaha

Siyokoy: he wont see our perspective, he's blinded by the sweet talking dirty politicians in olongapo.

Siyokoy: Lets just continue our crusade and rally with the abused and exploited workers of SBMA. I pity those who gets fired for standing up for their rights.

Siyokoy: Bert, may I remind the workers of SBMA that they can form a union even with 10 members.. and may I remind you that its the workers constitutional right to form a union. By law, it is legal.

Siyokoy: Anyway, welcome back john.

Siyokoy: Bert, all the workers should know is their legal rights. I doubt if they what their rights are.

Siyokoy: *If they know

RamonAbello: hi john another discussion? lets start

RamonAbello: john first thing read by law how much the minimum wage in region3, I cant expect more than that unless they change the wages law itself

RamonAbello: they are "workers" trying to make a living in simple life. but you try to dragging me into be one of you as a troublemaker

RamonAbello: John what are you trying to emphasize as of now

BERT: pls dont be too hard on mr abello, his thoughts are as important as ours

BERT: i agree though that deaths in hanjin shipyard is a serious problem that needs to be immediately addressed

BERT: workers need to realize that hanjin is not an amateur w/ regards to dealing w/ labor unions since korean labor unions are truly aggressive

BERT: mga pinoy workers . . medyo mahiyain pa and not as assertive as the koreans

ABANGAN! hhahaha

BERT: ANO NA UPDATE SA SUNUGAN BLUES NG SHABU, WALA BANG SWITCHING?

RamonAbello: as figured ng Hanjin "89 ships" pa! workers let show the world we can make it!!

I think it is only right na bigay sa kanila kung ano ang dapat nilang makuha..

Kano: FILIPINOS - BY FAR - are the best workers in Asia if not in the world.. kasi we put our heart to things that we are doing.. so i guess deserve natin ang tamang pasahod sa quality ng trabaho na ginagawa natin diba?

Kano: So IT IS NOT EGO! It has nothing to do with that!

Katutubo: hello mga prens !!! long time no see ...

Katutubo: requirement kuno !!

readit: i think before u complain here kelangan muna cguro may mastery ung magbablog dito para di mapahiya ryt katutubo?

readit: for ur information volunteer nurse eh ung mga nars na nakapasa na ng board exam at may active license came from PRC.. in every institution in our time kelangan mmuna itrain at obserbahan unga mga papasok na staff before they hire it... ayan ung

readit: patakaran ng bawat hospital sa buong pilipinas... in our hospital here in olongapo esp. gordon hospital walang bayad ung training fee as in free unlike in metro manila may bayad un for a given time lang...

readit: habang wala pang staff na nagreresign walang magiging available na slot for their appointment or pantilla... kailangan ung pantilla para makasahod ka

readit: at ang mga student naman is required talaga mag duty as their practical para makapagboard sila pero di sila basta basta kumikilos dahil dapat may clinical instructor pa cla

readit: and for ur information: James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital is a training hospital. at walang pinipilit dyan para magwork or magvolunteer.. kusang loob malasakit!

readit: pls. refer to RA 9173 the philippine hure's act of 2001

readit: NURSE's ACT po not hure's act.. sorry

TheClown: thanks guide at sec for bringing it up, sorry if sometimes im too harsh but we have to discuss the problem until solutions find

TheClown: now its burned..no headache for all of us mostly the future of our child

Siyokoy: dont let your guards down, Ramon.. marami pa ring tulakl sa Gapo. war against illegal drugs is not over yet.... it is just the tip of the iceberg ika nga.. kailangan pa ring mahuli ang mga tulak at protectors.. pati si Ang..

RamonAbello: malaking "huli" ulit ang norte "pharapernalias" lang but can make "tons of shabu". Salamat po! burned it again!!!

RamonAbello: guide i've hearing this volunteer nurse for a while, it is mandatory or for experience lng..what do u think Sec.?

RamonAbello: ati takot sila magsumbong now they shout it out here againts drugs and anomalies, Gaponians were making history! regards and be safe lagi!

TheClown: dont use childrens or students on political issue. "Crude Oil is control by OPEC our goverment have nothing to do with it! ur lucky you got 62pesos in US it is roughly 4.50dollars now! Beside Asia have more cars than US! compare!

RamonAbello: Contractual Workers? Why?? Pls .make a Law againts this abuse of any management inside SBMA!!

RamonAbello: some management of SBMA they totally harrash and abuse the workers because of a contract, this abused keep out a good workers!

TheClown: Ano diff, ng krudo sa US at ASIA? bayaran kita ng 62pesos vs 4.50dollars di ka kaya magisip? ang lakas kumunsumo ng krudo ang asia but not dollar price. Lugi US ng malaki!

John: I am back. 64K workers lost their jobs due to the damm oil prices and there is more to come. The min wage is NOT $6.00. It is over $8.74 I think now. But here is the kicker Ramon, if they work over 40 hours in a week, they get time in a half for

John: those hours that adds up to over $13.00 an hour. What does the Filipino worker get if he works over 40 hours in Hanjin????? Nothing but STRAIGHT PAY.

John: Romon. I think it is time for YOU to get your facts straight BEFORE YOU open your mouth on here. First, there is NO Filipino overseas or in PI that thinks those who work in PI are getting a fair wage.

John: Hanjin made I would guess at least 35 million or more in profits on that first ship their built. It's Filipinos like YOU who taqke money under the table while your fellow Filipinos are suffering that make these companies look so good. YOU should be

John: taken out and put in a hole. You talk so much BS with no guts or facts. Why do YOU even try to discuss anything on here. FOr those that might know YOU, YOU may want to change your appearance B4 you get hurt.

John: So did the workers at Hanjin do this one day walk out?????? Any news on this????? It would have hurt them if it was for a week or more. One day is nothing. WAKE UP people. STOP being used by these companies as SLAVES..........

RamonAbello: dumber as a clown but can still answer correctly as with supporting evidence for proof..im the dumbest idiot or savant in short hahaha

TheClown: how are you now?

Siyokoy: Its about time Bert, Hanjin cant leave trheir billion investments ng ganun na lang.. kaya may leverage ang mga workers..

Siyokoy: Lets show them how unity can change your lives for the better

Siyokoy: hANJIN IS MAKING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN PROFIT.. HIINDI KABAWASAN ANG HUMINGI NG SAPAT PARA MABUHAY NG MARANGAL

Siyokoy: HUWAG MO NG TAKUTIN NA MAGUGUTOM ANG PINOY RAMON.. MATAGAL NG GUTOM ANG PINOY.. MAY TRABAHO NA NGA GUTOM PA RIN.. BAGUHIN NAMAN NATIN NGAYON

Siyokoy: sana may grammar check din itong shout box .. hahahaha

TheClown: will you please check with your two eyes if only Koreans runs the SBMA, maybe they invest big, but they dnt own all the business inside.

RamonAbello: sana nga! kasi kung makikinig sa mga payo mo ang pinoy, dilat kaming gutom na mamatay pati pamilya namin. dont let your "ego" go to your head

RamonAbello: SBMA can get new workers at fresh from the school or agencies anytime. "You" will not feel the preasure of hunger between 1-2 months but 3months, hahaha think again Sec.

TheClown: Joseph Estrada, Bill Gates, Joel Osten, Albert Eistein - why they are in common? Di sila "College Graduate". read there history before you comment on my grammar Sec.

olongapoteen: totoo po ba ung isyu between the james l. gordon hospital bulate in the ears of a newborn? i didnt know if naipalabas na sa 24 oras sa gma 7 or imbestigador...

TheClown: we are all over, accept it or not just to support their lifeline

TheClown: Who abuse and exploit? compare to anything what? your talking 62k jobs lost in US? its true, Philippines is young in industry

TheClown: I done exploit people they are free to choice! abused you got freedom you can take.

TheClown: if you are in bargaining table "your proposal is higher compensation, salary, above the bagaining inflation digit, "its a thugs style"

TheClown: you pushing the limit of the company, they are ony starting business that moslty been harrash by "critics"

TheClown: 62K job lost read (Smart Money) info from Dow Jones, Sec.

TheClown: if SBMA continue helping our coutrymen to work. its not only HANJIN anyway, its corporate world.. the philippines will rise up even we do have lots of critics

TheClown: its you game everybody, either by LAW accept the minimum wage with your family or be out and looking for a jobs out of the country

TheClown: nasa inyo yan kung magstay kayo o paiiralin ninyo "ego", attitudes, in working place

TheClown: let the investors come, as long as they pay the right wages by law

BERT: HANJIN WORKERS WILL TRY TO FLEX MUSCLE TODAY, PLANS TO STAGE A WALK-OUT

969008: alam natin na marami pagkukulang ang mga koreano, but the workers may be starting on the wrong foot, kung magpapadalos-dalos sila

969008: PASTOR OF SBMA LABOR SHOULD SHAPE-UP OR SHIP OUT

969008: HOY GISING!!!!

Comment on Akbayan's remark

We have high regards for the congresswoman representing Akbayan but we just could not agree when she said that President Arroyo betrayed the workers by gracing the occasion of inaugurating the first ship made by Hanjin shipbuilders. It was a real pride and honor for this new generation of workers - a new breed of shipbuilders - to have completed a ship ahead of schedule and performed way beyond expectations.

For the highest official of the land to have commended this feat is an honor that we wish to cherish for the rest of our lives, its so unconsiderate for the congresswoman to have used the death of our co-workers and made such unti-climactic remarks.

We are the group of welders that completed the PGMA Scholarship for Work Program, while we are not saying that we are supporters of the president . .

We hope that our countrymen understand that this is a major project and that there are safety and employees' welfare issues that needs to be ironed out. The employees have just completed electing its officers who will represent the workers' concerns last Sunday during a General Assembly at Subic Dream Plaza. While the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority have on its final stages the plan to put up a Safety Office and an Employees Welfare Office in Hanjin Shipyard premises to immediately address worker's concerns.

We are experiencing growing pains and we ask that we be given time to adjust.

We appreciate your concerns and wish to thank you for it.

We ask for your support, we want Subic Bay to be the "Home of the World's Best Shipbuilders."

964970: John dont be sad coz all comments are posted at link at bottom of shoutbox, please check

UY: SUSUNUGIN NA SHABU THIS WEEK, WATCH FOR IT

TheClown: lots of projects going on

TheClown: dont get sad john, in any war theirs "collateral damage" that is why we have to look forward to safety works so we can win this fight for poverty to be a good and safe workers

RamonAbello: john, during "industrial war" accident do happen! during the war lives lost, so my beloved workers be careful and keep safe! we are at war againts poverty and industrial to beat this two just be always careful

RamonAbello: as I mentioned b4, 7100 islands is hards to manage because of critics and not open mind to industriliation "critics bring you down, but be positive will make you move"

siyokoy: HUH!

siyokoy: What "Industrial war"?

siyokoy: Uy susunugin na ba? Ramon pakitikman mo nga yung shabu bago sunugin, baka tawas lang yun ha

siyokoy: hahahaha

John: "industrial war" . What are you talking about Ramon? If this was a WAR for the poor unsafe workers to be paid better with a better safety program, then I wouyld say then if the workers went on strike, closed down Hanjin, destroyed equipmen

John: its a war. Right now, the workers are doing nothing but getting hurt or killed. Why is that???? They are scared, NO ONE is willing to stand up for them as "THEY" would be taken away and never seen again. Such chicken shit actions IMHO.

John: So maybe Ramon, YOU need to STOP playing the party line and if you in fact are for better wages and better safety conditions fo r the workers in SBMA, then stand the puck up and do something. Stop sitting on the side lines and talking out your rear

John: Wow they gave 8,000 workers bonus amounting to between P1,000 and P4,000. That's ONLY $22.00 to $88.00. ANYONE on here who thinks this was a bonus is brain dead. This to me is a slap in the faces of those Filipino workers. It is a slap in the

John: faces of the families who lost their loved one. What did the families of the 12 that died get??? Ramon if YOU think this was a great move on Hanjins part, then YOU are stupid. When I was stationed DITO in the early 80's, we gave our maid P1,000.00

John: for Xmas and a few gifts. Back then, P1,000.00 was worth a lot more then it does TODAY. So 15 million Pesos was given out to the workers. But the REAL QUESTION is this. What is that in dollars and how much did this REALLY take away from their

John: PROFITS. This is another example of how Hanjin is "getting over" on the FIlipinos workers. It would have been better if Hanjin went out and purchased a sack of rice for each worker plus the bonus. SAD SAD SAD SAD.

John: Come on now Ramon, tell us how this is NOT Hanjin fault, that it is Philippine law that limits the amount that a company can give in reagards to bonuses. If P4,000.00 is the top of the line, then ALL workers should get the same.

John: amount. Do you think that this will motivated the workers to work harder and faster knowing if they do, they will get a lousy bonus? I think not and would hope that the workers would be smart enough to know what is right and what is wrong.

RamonAbello: what is our agend this week

John: Agenda. Why start a new agenda? Tired of trying to sell your ideas to us or is it maybe you have given up? Whatever. Lets discuss this LOUSY bonus Hanjin gave the workers. I would like to hear YOUR input on this. I wonder what they give their

John: workers for a job well done? WOnder if it is the same or more?

John: I'll be off on a trip for a few days, so I'll have to come back to read your inputs. The bottom line is this for me. Filipinos need to STOP being so nice and easy going when it comes to wages, safety, etc. If the Filipino continues to let those in

John: this world walk all over them, then I guess it will NEVER change for the Filipino worker. Why do Filipinos con tinue to be like this I wonder? Why do you accept this type of attitude, abuse, etc.? Make me understand.

John: WHy do they continue to go overseas to work for pennies? $500.00 a month to work on an oil tanker as my nephew has done for the last year in Europe. Give me a break.

Siyokoy: I tip my hat for you John. Thanks for your concern to my kababayan. I wish all true blooded pinoy think like you. Who will defend my kababayan everywhere, Not like those who think they are 100% pnoy but will lick the asses of foreigners in a flick of thefinger

RamonAbello: Bonus is a token of "good works". if minimum wages is not enough? what next? ur in america why dont you asked $6 minimum wage? besides the root is high oil prices of OPEC

RamonAbello: $6 minimum wage do im right john? still sometimes they cant get insurance within 3 to 6 months longs?

RamonAbello: dont compare yooung philippines to any big industrial nation. We are young comfare to them. and we have lots of critics that positive people.

RamonAbello: lick of asses?? hahaha billions to that Sec. wake up

RamonAbello: filipino workers do their best when they were working, so dont mentioned about kiss or lick somethings. they are billions workers and they are up to standars!

RamonAbello: I wonder and heard 62K people lost jobs in you country John because of unionism? correct me of im wrong okey?

Siyokoy: Ramon.. get your information right fisrt ok.. national unemployment rate in US is 5% to 6%.. compare it to Phils? which in two digits..you're just plain dumb....dont comapre teir minimum wage to ours... their minimum wage per hour goes a long way in

Siyokoy: terms of purchasing power

Siyokoy: and Phillipines is not young anymore.. we've been through a lot already and we shuold have learned from our history..

Siyokoy: we've been to number 2 in the world before martial law.. what happened?

Siyokoy: my bad.. we're number two after Japan during late sixties..

Siyokoy: I dont know where you got your info.. but whoever is feeding you that info is just like you.. dumb and dumber hahhaah pardon my language but im sick and tired of people like you who dont have guts to stand against who abused , exploits and insult his countrmen

Siyokoy: Maritrime Safety... When we all going to learn? Who's at fault? We need the technology to protect our seafaring vessels.. Dopler Radars in strategic points, weather satellite access,

Siyokoy: and better training for Pagasa personnel

RamonAbello: now they "listen" to us to tow that ship out from the water! make it ASAP pls. tulong tulong lahat tau to solve major problem regarding that "Toxic".

Siyokoy: and ask our du*ba#s congressmen and senators to give enough funding to pagasa to better equip their dept to protect our fellowmen who travel by sea and also fishermen

Siyokoy: make an honest to godness investigation regarding overloading and undocumented travelers

Siyokoy: let the heads roll in Coast Guard agencies who let this things happen

Siyokoy: Make a law that will mandatory equip all fishermen to wear floating device and equip their bancas with radios

TheClown: Pls. dont check about ship now pag dumating ang "super lolo" meaning my buntot na "apo", I think they burned the "huli"

Siyokoy: two way radios that is... and have all barangay centers in fishing villages to monitor all fishing boats registered in their barangays.. equip all barangay hall in all fishing villages with radios to monitor fishermen and have in contact with all

Siyokoy: those in distress at sea.. barangay officials in fishing villages must organize rescue volunteers

RamonAbello: ayan nagalit tuloy ang Sec.namin. Simple solusyon diyan "balik nyo sa private from the general" o db happy ang gustong magluko! zzzz n ako. Hi Gaponians!

RamonAbello: Hanjin "5" more ship, ang ganda ng ship at "Made in the Philippines" gulpi na naman ako..

RamonAbello: "Von Voyage" my Dear ship! be always safe sa pupuntahan mo! thats "Made in the Philippines"

RamonAbello: Sec. the way a see the aerial photo of SBMA and coastline, magkakatotoo ang request mo na "train" at future hongkong in the future..mga building na lang ang kulang sa flat area.. just continue the business blooming

John: Arby It is a Trident and the name that I provided is the boat in the picture. I am well aware as I am in the know. This was confirmed by someone I work with.

John: So Ramon, I see you are so happy to see this ship M/V Argolokos has passed its test and is on its way. I am happy to see that those in OC and Subic area have made the old bases into good investments for the PEOPLE of this area. But I along with

John: many others still havr concerns. "made in the Philippines" may sound good to you, but to others, it says built with cheap labor along with 12 deaths. Is this the way YOU want to see these ships go to sea? Over the deaths of how many Fili

John: Filipinos?????? It is SAD to think that YOU and your cohorts are so proud of Hanjin and its safety record. Sad as ALL I SEE is that you and these cohorts are only thinking of the $$$$$$ in

John: your pockets for being blind and stupid.

John: I just spent some time on the internet searching for numbers on accidents in shipyards. Seems that when you look at these numbers, those shipyards in Asia countries like Korea, China are high compared to say the UK, US yards. Why is that????

John: Could it be that these comapnies like Hanjin use cheap labor, don't care about SAFETY with in their yards? Could it be that Hanjin only cares about PROFITS??? Come on now Ramon, answer these questions for us. Bet you can not come up with ANY good

John: points or arguements to support YOUR way of thinking. See Raomn, in the US we have what is called OSHA, it is law and regualtuions for EVERYTHING workers do in the work place. Comapnies, business ALL ust follow these laws, regualtions or they can

John: sued. The owners can even go to jail. So you see here Ramon, Hanjin's ONLY reason for cdomingto the Philippines to build two shipyards is for CHEAP LABOR = increase PROFITS and LOW OVERHEAD = NO, repeat NO laws to make them abide by in regards to

John: safety. So as much as I am proud of the hard work these Filipinos have done to show the world that Filipinos can build ships in a timely manner, IS IT WORTH 12 FILIPINO LIVES???????

John: Siyokoy You bring up good points and sugestions. But you know as well as I that this will NEVER happen. How can you expect a poor Filipino fisherman to come up with the monies for this?

John: My Asawas brother has three good size motor banka for fishing. When they go out far from the island, they are gone for days till they come up with enough of a catch to make money. Fishing is dangerous in the Philippines as the country is tooooooooo

John: poor. I would agree that the GOV'T needs to put into place a better means of getting the word out about pending storms. On small islands with NO power, they go about their daily lives and get caught with their pants down when a storm hits.

John: These islands need short wave radios on ALL of them. A means to pass these storm warning out to ALL on these islands to prevent fisherman from going out to sea.

John: But NO. THose in Gov't lik Ramon ONLY care about bringing in investments and filling their pockets with kick backs. Selling their fellow FIlipino contrymen down the river. SAD SAD SAD SAD.. Their day will come when they TRY to walk throught the

John: doors into heaven. They will have a long drop into hell.

RamonAbello: hi john, so you decided to throw the blamed to someone? is that so? have you watch 60minutes? about the OSHA you mentioned?

RamonAbello: OSHA have only a few investigator that can inspect a whole scenario of accident in 24hours of inspection through out the process they missed things that can make it a flaw.

RamonAbello: evrything made on earth, evrything, theres and not intentional accident but because of side effect, research about the "medicine" that being sued by patients!

RamonAbello: Made in the Philippines?? Oh yeah Im very proud of it because a my countryman can change the course of lowlife to a certain greatness at their point.

RamonAbello: I think hanjin dont use a cheap labor, they just follow the phil law about minimum wages. so its not cheap its by law.

TheClown: Having an Investors is good rather than bringing the minor child holding a placard and being used as a shield for poverty. Lets go to work together!

John: So if it's Philippine Law that sets the wages, then it is up to the people to change this law. My point was that Hanjin knows this and came to PI because of this law on cheap labor. True that there might not be that many inspectors per number of

John: companies, but the laws are there and ANY worker can call up a toll free phone number and make a report for action. What does Hanjin have????? NOTHING. Do they even have ONE inspector walking around the yard?

John: Clown. TRUE. But of this childs father or mother that gets killed in the line of UNSAFE working conditions. This to me issetting Filipinos up to be killed.

John: I would like to know why when I made a few remarks on stories they don't show up??? MOD concerned about hearing the truth I wonder. Sad.
